What decides a removal scope.
Removal is mostly a logistics job. Getting the material out without bringing it through your living space is the hard part.

If moisture or pests put the material in that condition, the cause gets identified. Replacing insulation without fixing the cause just resets the clock.

The goal is that the only evidence we were there is a clean attic.

If water or pests did this, that gets named. Sometimes the fix is ours and sometimes it is not. We will say which.

Out of the attic, out of the building and disposed of properly.

The deck or the ceiling plane left ready for the new work.
Insulation removal FAQs
The things owners usually want settled before they book an estimate.
Does the old insulation always have to come out?
No. If it is dry, clean and simply thin, it can often stay and be added to, and that saves you money. Removal is for material that is wet, contaminated, pest damaged, fire affected or so settled that it no longer does anything. We will tell you honestly which situation you are in.
Will removing it make a mess in my house?
That is the part we plan first. The route out and the containment get decided before anything is disturbed, specifically so the material does not travel through your finished space.
Can you remove insulation without replacing it?
We can, but it is worth asking why. If the attic is being cleared because of a leak or an infestation, the cause needs addressing, and leaving the attic bare afterwards has its own consequences. We would rather plan both steps together.
Do you deal with the rodent problem too?
We remove the contaminated material and we will tell you where they are getting in if we can see it. Actually treating an infestation is a pest control job, and we would rather send you to someone who does that properly than pretend it is our trade.
How much does removal cost?
It depends on the material, the volume, the access and the containment needed. Access is usually the biggest factor, not the square footage. We quote it after looking in the attic.
